Network Security

Is the system configuration fully documented? Has the documentation been verified? Is there a written statement of the security objectives?

Network security configuration should be performed against a list of the threats and conditions from which the network is to be protected. These are defined in the security objectives.

With the security objectives in mind, a thorough hands-on analysis of your networked systems should be performed.

This will help ensure that you actually do get the level of security that your security objectives require, and that the products that make up the system were designed to provide.
